Crypto Maniac 8 GPU case

Here is the deal: we took our popular Crypto Monster 6 GPU case and gave it a massive dose of (virtual) steroids! The result is an impressive 8 GPU mining case which incorporates some improvements based on the feedback of our users. You asked for it, we did it! The Crypto Maniac case is beefier and is designed to be stackable in such a way that units can be easily bolted together using our stacking kit (super easy). The unit is taller by one inch allowing the use of massive CPU coolers when necessary and more space between the graphic cards and the unit on top when stacked. It boasts an impressive 8 fans, very helpful to keep things cool

Why 8 cards?

An 8 GPU rig is not for the faint of heart! It is usually not plug and play and can require a lot of tweaking, researching etc. but recent technological advances are making this more and more possible with less and less headaches. New processors as well as new Chipsets from Intel are opening new possibilities with the number of PCI lanes a system can manage. As of now it is possible to use a PCI splitter than can give you an extra 3 PCI lanes. It is not without issues but once configured it works fine! Anything above 8 cards is not practical because the system would draw too much power and would be even harder to setup. Right now EVGA power supplies provide power for 4 cards so when you use 2 power supplies you can easily power your 8 cards without any modifications. Another approach is to use 7 graphic cards without a splitter, it is much easier to configure and when you feel comfortable enough and your rig is making money, you can add an 8th card via a PCI splitter bought in China for around 25 USD. As an example the MSI Z97 is an excellent board and has 7 PCI lanes available so that would be a great start! We believe that 8 cards is the maximum that is still practical. Everything in our case fits perfectly. You don’t have to worry about cables being too short or having to extend anything, it just works! The 3 bottom fans plug directly into the motherboard and the top 5 are connected to a fan splitter and connected directly to the power supply via a molex connector. As a conclusion I will say that although an 8 GPU case is not easy to setup right now, it will become easier and easier during the course of 2017 so if you are serious about mining, this case will give you a lot of possibilities. If you prefer plug and play, our 6 GPU Crypto Monster case is the better choice!
