A bike interval workout is another option for you to make losing weight a fast process.  Expect to do intense routines along with breaks in between.  This complete workout lasts for 20 minutes with a combination of an 8 second intense workout, along with breaks for 12 seconds each.  Continue to alternate the two until you finish the entire workout time.  You will be able to burn a lot of calories with doing this workout in comparison to an aerobic routine.  The thing is, if you are a beginner, it is always good to start with the aerobic one.

Doing an advanced interval workout on your bike is something you can do when you are more experienced.  These consist of intense workouts that start at 8 seconds but goes higher after each recovery break to 10, 15, and 20 seconds.  These breaks are usually 45 seconds each and you will need to alternate the two until you have finished the entire 20-minute workout.
