At first glance the box in which the cake is presented or delivered doesn’t seem like it’s too important. But you can make such a box add a great deal of variety and interest to a cake if you take the time to make it more than a dull, cardboard box. Unlike the usual process of removing the cake from the box, you can have the box be the holder of the cake, if it looks the part, it can also be made to look like part of the cake itself.

There are different ways in which you can customize the box for a cake to be more suitable for the cake it holds. Most cake shops will undertake such a project if you ask them to, but otherwise you will have to go to a gift shop box and make your request. If you don’t want to spend money by doing this, then simply take a regular cake box and customize it yourself. You can add writing, art, pictures, ribbons, lace, or any other form of decoration that you think will fit in with the theme of the cake.

The most common boxes for cakes that you can imagine are usually square or round. Unfortunately, not all cakes can fit perfectly into round or square boxes. If this is the case, then you will have to go hunting for a cake box that is of the shape or size you need.

The decoration of a cake gift box can have a lot of impact on the cake itself. The right decoration will mean that the cake can sit in the box itself instead of being taken out and the box discarded. But keep in mind that most boxes can be thrown out after use, so if you’re intending on doing something special with them, remember to request it be done on a plastic or glass box that the receiver will no doubt want to keep using it for other occasions and will have sentimental value in addition.
