Hamburger Meat Recipes – 2 Great American Burgers to Make


The great American burger comes in many different flavor varieties that range from plain to wild and exotic. When having burger night, you can spice things up a bit by making one of these delicious burger recipes. They are easy to make and yet add enough of a twist to create a new favorite in your burger eating meals.

Best Bacon Swiss Burgers

In a skillet, cook four slices of bacon until nice and crisp. Remove from heat, drain and crumble into a small bowl.

You’ll need to heat up a grill (or skillet) for cooking the hamburger patties. In a medium sized bowl, combine one pound of ground beef, the crumbled bacon, 1 1/2 teaspoons of chopped up fresh thyme, or 1/2 teaspoon of dried thyme, 1/2 teaspoon of salt and a dash of black pepper.

Mix up all the ingredients until well blended. With your hands, shape into four hamburger patties. Place the patties on top of the grill, cover with foil and cook over medium heat for around 8 to 10 minutes, or until the meat reaches desired doneness. Make sure you turn the meat over halfway through the cooking time.

Place cooked patties on hamburger buns and place a slice of Swiss cheese over each burger. Add additional condiments such as lettuce, tomato, onion slices and pickles as desired.

Zesty Pizza Burgers

In a small bowl, combine one pound of ground beef, 1/2 cup of pasta sauce, 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Mix meat together until well blended and then shape into six hamburger patties. Cook patties in a skillet (or broil) until well done.

While the meat is cooking, pour 1 1/2 cups of pasta sauce into a saucepan and heat thoroughly. Remove from heat. When burgers are done, drain on a paper towel.

Take six English muffins and slice them in half. Toast each half lightly. Place a burger on each muffin half and top with more shredded mozzarella cheese. Pour warm pasta sauce on top of cheese and then place remaining muffin half on top.
