The DNA floating through your veins doesn’t only belong to you. Your blood also contains what some scientists have called “alien” DNA. New tests can isolate that DNA and tell patients a lot about their health. Pregnant women have been the first to benefit from these tests in routine care. But KPBS science reporter David Wagner says they’ve also been the first to deal with their limitations.
