When you have a three hour hike ahead, you need some trusty boots to ensure you won’t get blisters.
And today the Duchess of Cambridge relied on a favourite pair as she made the long trek to the famous Tiger’s Nest monastery in Bhutan with Prince William.
Kate, 34, wore leather, knee high Penelope Chilvers boots, costing £475, that are clearly an old reliable as she’s been stepping out in them for well over a decade.

The Duchess of Cambridge really had to pack for all eventualities for the Royal tour to India and Bhutan.
From glamorous receptions to a safari then archery classes and now a six hour hike up a mountain, Kate’s wardrobe has had to cover it all. But even on this long trek she somehow managed to look put together and poised. And her hair is perfect!
Wearing skinny jeans, a white shirt and leather gilet Kate is elegant but practical, although we do worry she must have got a little hot. And check out her boots. These Penelope Chilvers knee high numbers would more usually be seen down the King’s Road but they’ve been re-purposed for a much more energetic activity.
A flat boot is always a style essential and as the Duchess is proving it’s a versatile option too. So why not treat your feet to a pair now and click (right) to snap them up? Wear over skinny jeans and leggings or work them with a floaty midi dress this season.
If the price is putting you off then never fear. We’ve found plenty more affordable flats on the virtual high street that’ll do the trick. Office, John Lewis, Kurt Geiger and Dune London are your first ports of call.
