If you are like many people, you’ve fallen into some bad habits as you have grown older and have finally had enough. Aside from an increased risk for various diseases due to a sedentary lifestyle, you also might be feeling sad and depressed. This is all caused by lack of exercise and activity in your daily life. This new, more stationary and slow-moving lifestyle has lead to a significant increase in obesity, diabetes, heart disease and other health concerns.

The evidence is showing that too much sitting can lead not only to obesity, but also chronic disease, and premature death. Medical experts advise that every person gets at least 30 to 60 minutes a day of exercise. Most people do not get even this minimal amount, but for those who do, it may not fully combat the problems caused by a continuous periods of sitting. There have been some recent studies that are challenging this notion. Those who exercise are getting the benefits of exercise and there is no doubt about that. The issue is that those who are sitting down for a majority of the day, exercising or not, are suffering from the same health drawbacks of being sedentary.

Some of the main health issues caused by sedentary lifestyle are obesity, heart diseases, muscle atrophy, diabetes, osteoporosis, and sleep apnea. Many health experts claim that the main reason for leading a sedentary life is laziness. A person will come up with number of excuses not to do any kind of physical exercise. He or she will claim to be tired, fatigued and drained out after spending 9 hours sitting in front of a computer at office. It is important that these individuals should go out of their nest and learn to have fun once in a while. This will allow them to refresh their thoughts by looking at something new, instead of pouring all their attention on their projects.

It is much easier to find a bit of free space in your house for one single item of home exercise equipment as opposed to different units to exercise different body parts.
