Today, I’m going to go over ways to lose weight by running. So, if your thing is jogging, my advice is to stop that right now. Jogging is really nothing more than an inefficient use of your time and does very little for weight loss.

I’ll outline 2 ways of running that will turn your body into a fat burning machine. Just spend a few minutes reading the rest of this article if you’re at all interested in losing some of that jelly from your belly.

Lose Weight By Running – Done Right

Run Up Stairs

While jogging on a flat surface is much better than doing nothing, it has severe limitations because it is a steady rate cardio workout. If you want to see some real results with running, you need to challenge yourself a bit more.

You want to go at it hard with short bursts of high intensity followed by a slower, less intense pace. And one great way of doing this is by using stairs.

If you have access to stairs, I suggest you do this: run as fast as you can up a couple flights of stairs and then walk back down. Repeat this over and over for at least five minutes. 15 – 20 minutes is ideal, but this depends on what kind of shape you are in right now. If your girth is such that you break a sweat when eating, you really should ease into this kind of exercise slowly.

The key to this exercise is no breaks or stopping. There are periods of high and low intensity, but no breaks.

Commit to doing this three to five days each and every week.

Sprint and Walk Intervals

This is another simple technique. All you have to do is walk outside your front door and run hard for about 10 or 15 seconds. After that, walk for about the next 45-60 seconds. Keep repeating this cycle for at least 10 minutes.

If you commit to doing this kind of exercise for at least 3 times a week, you’ll turn your body into a fat burning furnace. You’ll notice dramatic results in about 2 weeks.

That’s the best way to lose weigh by running.
