Toxic Belly Fat – Lose it For Good Health

.tags

Belly Fat is a prevailing problem among the overweight and average weight alike. Even if you only need to lose a little weight usually some of it is concentrated around your midsection. Studies have shown that 40 inches for men and 35 for women is where the risks for health problems increase. Belly fat has been shown to be associated with an increased risk for heart attack, hypertension, and diabetes. It has even been shown to be linked to early death and Alzheimer’s disease. Literally, it is toxic weight. Anyone stands to gain by getting rid of it, especially if you are already at risk for these health problems because of other factors like genetics.

Many ads promise a way to banish belly fat by restricting your diet to certain foods or “detoxing” your body. The problem with restricting your diet is that it is important to make sure you eat a balanced diet and get enough nutrients. You may miss out on some needed vitamins or nutrients by eating only certain foods. As far detoxing goes, there is no certain proof that detoxing your body will aide you in weight loss or benefit your health. If you have done it and it works for you that is great, but continue to eat a balanced diet to be safe.

How can it be done? While exercise is certainly great, your best bet is to first reduce your overall body fat by dieting. Upper body weight will come off easier. Once you have lost some fat off your body including your stomach start to incorporate some activity into your life. If you are not in a position to get some cardio in at a local gym, try walking. The best and most successful walking will be on varied terrain. Change it up to keep yourself from reaching a plateau. You can start off by walking 20 minutes a day and then increase it over time. Aim for a goal of 4-6 times a week. Anyone can lose belly fat and it will be worth it; not only will you look better but you will feel better.
