Drink more water
The hard, dry stools are a common cause of constipation, so the more water you add, the easier it is to pass stool. It is especially important to drink more water to increase fiber in your diet.

Eat more fiber
Fiber is a natural laxative. Increases the water content of stools and helps bulk up. Start your day with a bran cereal high in fiber. This will help your bowel movement to move more smoothly and quickly through your colon.
