Prevent Hair Loss – How To Have Healthy Hair

{flickr|100|campaign} Though hair loss is most often associated with men, it can certainly occur in women as well. Many products are available, both over the counter and by prescription, to combat hair loss. There are many treatments available for the treatment of hair loss and hair regrowth, but the best is natural treatment. Results from the homoeopathic approach can take a longer time, but they are very often dramatic.

1. Stinging Nettle has long been used as a hair tonic to stimulate new hair growth and regain natural hair colour. Research indicates that nettle can prevent testosterone from converting to DHT (hormone responsible for male-pattern baldness). Nettle root extract contains chemicals that block the conversion of free testosterone into DHT and can be used as long as needed. A daily cup nettle tea may help reduce or prevent baldness.

2. Plain abstinence from alcohol, smoking and recreational drugs is often not enough to protect us from the toxins all around us. Toxins such as chlorine, pesticides, second-hand smoke, traffic exhaust fumes, certain cosmetics and germs in the air infiltrate the body systems and place an enormous load on our metabolic systems. This causes general health to deteriorate and one of the symptoms is often hair loss. Various detoxification therapies are now available to us, but caution should govern their use.

3. For stopping hair loss, take a diet solution which will contain one of the following vitamins zinc, B-6, folic acid, magnesium, silica. These vitamins are very good for the hairs. To take these vitamins you don’t need any market product, just carefully choose your diet and eat more fruits, you will get all the required vitamins.

4. Measure (or weigh) 250 g of mustard oil and place in a small saucepan. Weigh 100 g of henna leaves, and place them in the same pan. Stir the oil and leaves together, mixing well. Place the pan on the stove. Turn the stove on and bring the mixture to a boil. Stir the mixture thoroughly and remove from the stove. Allow to cool. Massage the oil mixture into your scalp and areas of hair loss. Do not rinse the oil out until the next time you wash your hair.

5. Stress is a killing factor for the human body. Stress not only affect the entire body, it affects hair growth also. We many times see people loosing hairs due to tension. One very good medicine on this is Yoga. Yoga is stress management technique through some exercise.

6. Saw Palmetto is an effective anti-androgen and could be an effective treatment for hair loss prevention, though women taking hormone therapy or oral contraceptives should not take Saw Palmetto. There have also been links between saw palmetto and severe bleeding so the herb should be avoided by anyone with bleeding disorders or taking medications such as aspirin or warfarin.

7. Experts in aromatherapy use the oils obtained from bay, cedar wood, grapefruit, jojoba, lavender, lemon, rosemary, thyme and Roman chamomile. Users massage these compounds into the scalp and disperse them into the air with special dispersing units. The combined effect of absorption and inhalation apparently arrests hair loss.
