Wall Mount Your Nintendo Wii

How is it that video games have made it from your kid’s room to the living room?

Gone are the days when video games were just a kid’s toy. Growing up in the 80’s, I remember spending countless hours locking myself in my room to play the classic Nintendo. Or even before then, having my older brothers kick me out of their room while they played Pong or some other video game.

No longer are video gaming systems considered a child’s toy or activity. We have 3 gaming systems in our home and the children in the house are only 2 and 3 years old. I am still that kid that played Nintendo and Super NES for hours, only now I don’t like to have to go to my room. With games for the Wii like Wii Sports and Wii Fit, even my wife likes to play.

Now that gaming systems have taken over the living room, where do you put them? We didn’t want our Wii sitting on the floor like my games back then. I don’t want it sitting on the fireplace mantle with cords hanging down so the kids can grab it. Our TV is wall mounted just above our fireplace and we barely have enough length for our 15 foot HDMI cord to reach the TV through the wall, but it looks very clean.

After buying our Wii, we were posed with problem of determining just where to put it. We came up with the idea of wall mounting it behind our TV so that we didn’t have to open the wall to run more cable. After spending hours searching online, driving to retail stores, even the home improvement ones, we couldn’t find anything that came close, so we decided to make our own. We consulted with professionals in the plastics industry and came up with the Wii Wall Mount. Now we get the play our games on the big screen and still get to keep our clean look as if the Wii wasn’t even there.
