Working Towards a Healthier Planet
I have always been careful about what I do to our planet. Recycling has always been a part of my families lifestyle and when our last child left the nest, I was feeling like I needed a project. Rather than taking up a regular hobby, I decided to learn about greenhouses and the effect that they can have on the environment. I went to the local library and took out a few books on greenhouse plans. I study those as much as possible but it seemed like there wasn’t a lot on the subject. I asked my wife what she thought and she said that I should talk to maybe a contractor or an architect.
After talking with some people I knew I needed to decide on a specific set of plans. I knew that the geodesic dome greenhouse plans would allow for more space to grow plants because of its unique structure. Not needing the some of the extra supports seemed like a good idea but it does cost more than other greenhouse. Deciding to do some more research, I found out that there were a lot of other greenhouse plans out there. I looked into pvc greenhouse plans and they were interesting because they were a lot less expensive but I wasn’t sure that they would withstand the winds that are in our area and I didn’t want to jeopardize the plants that I would be growing. A wood greenhouse seemed pretty ideal because I would be able to assemble it easy, the structure would be withstand a lot of the elements and the materials were pretty inexpensive. As I thoroughly researched things, I decided against it because it wasn’t going to be the best for the environment. I wanted something that was going to help the planet not take away from it.
After spending time looking over every option, I knew what I was going to get. Making an investment, I chose the most environmentally friendly greenhouse construction plans and I soon had my greenhouse up and running. I found it relaxing and peaceful and I enjoyed all the time I spent tending on it.
